L’efflorescence est une substance blanche poudreuse qui se forme à la surface des pavés en béton, murets, ou blocs de pierre. Elle résulte d’un processus naturel où les sels minéraux présents dans le matériau remontent à la surface sous l’effet de l’humidité.

Lorsque l’eau s’évapore, elle laisse ces sels visibles sous forme de dépôts blancs. Ce n’est pas un défaut du produit ni une erreur d’installation, mais plutôt un phénomène temporaire et normal associé aux matériaux à base de ciment.

## Qu'est-ce qui cause l'efflorescence?

L’efflorescence se produit lorsque trois éléments sont réunis :

- **Présence d’humidité** : L’eau pénètre dans les pavés ou les blocs de béton et dissout les sels minéraux qu’ils contiennent.
- **Sels solubles** : Ces sels sont naturellement présents dans les matériaux à base de ciment, mais aussi parfois dans les matériaux de fondation comme le sable ou la pierre installés sous les pavés.
- **Remontée vers la surface** : L’eau, en remontant lentement à travers les pores du béton, transporte ces sels jusqu’à la surface. Une fois l’eau évaporée, les sels restent visibles sous forme de dépôts blancs.

C’est pourquoi les taches blanches sur le pavé uni apparaissent souvent après une pluie, un arrosage mal dirigé ou peu après l’installation.

## Combien de temps dure l'efflorescence?

L’efflorescence disparaît généralement d’elle-même avec le temps, lorsque les sels sont épuisés. Ce processus peut prendre de quelques semaines à quelques mois, selon les conditions climatiques.
