We get asked all the time how our product compares to brick pavers. Obviously, we love our concrete pavers, so we dug in to understand the differences and help our customers make an informed choice that is right for their project and their budget.
We compared the kind of paver we produce (concrete paver) with the clay brick pavers currently sold on the market. Curious to know the differences?
Why Concrete Pavers Are the Best Option
How beautiful are traditional clay brick houses? Many homeowners gravitate towards a driveway that matches their stately brick homes.
However, this can be a challenge to pull off because red is no easy color to match. And although a brick driveway won’t fade with time and won’t stain easily, there are many situations when brick pavers may not be strong enough to survive harsh climates.
Concrete pavers present far more design and color options than brick pavers. Concrete pavers are colored with iron-oxide pigment and aggregates, while clay brick pavers are formed by natural clays, offering limited color variation.
While you may love the look of brick pavers, contractors will charge you a lot more for labor because they are much more difficult to install, thanks to their inconsistent sizing and the difficulty level in cutting them to size. And that inconsistent sizing doesn’t just make installation more difficult, it can cause unsightly gaps between the bricks.
Plus, you may have to pay for the contractor to do that all over again if the pavement fails, which is very possible since brick pavers can crack under heavy vehicular traffic.
While all of our concrete pavers offer a better lifetime value than clay brick pavers, we’ve highlighted two below that we think you’ll love the most.
